This week, my dear friend fall has decided to be 82 degrees and exhausting. Between work travel for me and a toddler whose stuffy nose is causing sleep problems for everyone, I'm feeling a little sluggish and sleepy.
The good news is the drywall and spackling in the master suite is officially done as of Sunday! (Photos to come.) The cleanup process is considerable and ongoing... There are splatters of spackle everywhere that need to be scraped and scrubbed to remove, and though the sanding crew put up plastic sheeting to reduce mess, a fine, stubborn layer of dust settled on every surface in the house. I'm determined to defeat it. Ez still needs to sand and clean all the ceiling beams, which are covered with blobs of spackle and spray foam insulation. This is going to create even more dust, obviously, so it's going to take awhile for everything around here to feel clean again. (As if we've ever fully reached that point yet.)
I'm excited to get to paint one of these days. Painting is easy, and it has instant impact. When the paint brushes come out, that's my signal that we're on the home stretch. That's a feeling I could get used to.
I can't tell you how excited I am for you!! It's funny how invested I am in the completion of your upstairs. I can only imagine how it feels to finally get to decide on the "details". Can't wait to see all the pictures!
