I just killed one of the fattest, most enormous hairy black spiders I've ever seen. With a Pottery Barn catalog. The thing was crawling outside my office window, and I absolutely could not risk it finding its way in. I would tell you what heinous variety it was, but I got queasy and nauseated while looking at the spider identification website. Gag.

Perhaps a wolf spider. They're formidable looking.
