The oven is in. And it even works. And the cabinet is painted. (I even did one of the coats while S tended to the baby!) Who are we, all of a sudden, making things happen?
I hope to try to bake something in the next few days... but that will require going to the grocery store to buy flour and sugar and vanilla extract since we haven't used any of those things in years.
YEARS.
Somebody get me my apron.

ReplyDeleteLooks great. Metal in the doors is cool too. How about punched tin? Mmmmm maybe not, you've got painted wood, black would be best.
Thanks Mel! S did a great job. Punched tin did cross my mind, but sourcing it (or making it) sounded too exhausting when I know Home Depot carries the perforated sheets. Laziness wins again!
DeleteJust found your blog via houseblogging.com, WHOA, totally made me happy to see another young couple as "brazen" (or crazy!) as us. We had a similar story, saw our house and had to put an offer in the next day. 2 days later, it was ours, mouse poo, leaky roof, mold...and all! So much work, but exciting to see slowly come together (we're way behind you though!). Anywho, can't wait to check out more of your blog and hopefully get some tips!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Rachel! Can't wait to check out your blog and your project. Crazy is right... We're 3 years in and still going though, so hopefully that's inspiration enough for you.
DeleteAlso I should probably check out houseblogging.com because I don't know what it is, and had no idea I was on it. Cool. Thanks for the tip!
I am actually gonna paint that motherloving bathroom this weekend if it kills me. You have inspired me to fianlly doooooo it.
ReplyDeleteYay! You'll feel so proud of yourself, way more than if you'd done it pre-Zoe. I'll be cheering you on from over here.
Deleteone downside of having a working oven...far easier to bake cookies on a whim. not that i've done that...
ReplyDeleteThe odds of me being organized enough to have all the ingredients on hand to bake cookies on a whim is low, so I'd be thrilled if that could happen just once!
Deletewoo hoo. you'll be baking up a storm in no time!!!!!
ReplyDeleteC xxx
This looks AWESOME! Yay! I'm so excited for you!
ReplyDeleteAnd also, when you make a batch, just freeze some of them so you can whip up a few whenever you want - with no hassle. I love that!
ReplyDeleteYay! It looks great! Now you can bake your apple crisp that Starrett loves so much :)
