BONJOUR

Everyone needs a little getaway now and then... so when Ez was sent to London for a business trip last week we decided to turn it into an opportunity to have a bit of an adventure without the baby. After he spent the week doing his work things, I left Johnnie in the loving care of her grandparents and flew over to meet him. We took the EuroStar to Paris for the weekend and if it weren't for the little girl waiting for us back home, we might not have returned. It was my first time in Paris, and I dragged my dear husband all over the city to look at innumerable artistic masterpieces and essential landmarks. It was positively frigid, but the constant light snowfall was magical. He just kept smiling and saying, "This is awesome."

We arrived back home last night and hit the ground running this morning, tired for sure but somehow refreshed nonetheless. While my endless to-do list at the office is not quite as enthralling as the Winged Victory of Samothrace, being there to greet my daughter when she woke up this morning was pure joy -- taking the sting out of getting back to business as usual. Travel is wonderful, but so is coming home.

  1. Glad you had a great time in Paris! Nike of Samothrace was my favorite, too :)

  2. That is so great you guys had the chance for a little weekend away. Especially to Paris. I don't care what time of year it is, I would never turn down a trip there!

What a wonderful opportunity for you both.
We’ve been to Paris too, but never saw that tower thingy.
Where was that? We didn't fly, we drove because we’re
so close to Paris already. (Less than 2 hours)
People are always talking about the “City of lights” and
experiencing a different language and all, but we didn’t
notice much of a difference in language in Illinois, we
    understood everybody there just fine.

Glad you’re back safe and sound.

    1. I have friends that live in Paris, Kentucky. Quite a different place from the original, I imagine!
