Framed up Dad framing and trimming the windows
Progress is a beautiful thing. The wall color is Valspar's Woodlawn Valley Haze from Lowe's. I wasn't crazy about it at first, but it's really growing on me now that I see it alongside the white trim and dark floors. It's rather spa-like, I think. I will post more photos when we have some furniture in it and have a chance to put some flare into it. It will be a sort of temporary living room while we work on our real one, which we're itching to get to.
Thanks to our parents, siblings (Airlia and Greg) and the fearless friends (Kyle, Micki, Mike, Marty and Cristin) who helped with various projects in this room. You're all invited to sleep over as soon as we have plumbing. No working - just relaxing!
I actually LOVE this room. I love brown and blue/teal together. I think you picked a perfect color to make guests feel relaxed...just like you said, spa-like. I thought about this color for our master bedroom to reach this same effect, but I thought over time we might get sick of it and that it might be too much for our room. I think we're going to go with a slate grayish-blue color...something a little more calming and neutral. But honestly I love what you did!
ReplyDeleteOh, one more thing I forgot to comment on. My step-dad's brother is a painter and has been painting for something like 40+ years. He's 74 and still painting homes, etc full time! He loves it and he told us that Lowe's Valspar (gold label) is the best, so when I read that's what you used I thought "good choice!"
